What is a giclee print?

Defined by my professional printer: This revolutionary printing process results in ultra-high image resolution and an enhanced color range that’s never been seen before. Featuring 7 dye-based inks and available on premium paper options, you can achieve vibrant color reproduction, boosted clarity and crisp detail.

It’s high quality and I pay a bit more to print it with a deep matte paper because of the texture and I always will because I love it!

What is analog?

Analog just means that it’s created without the use of a computer or technology — I make it by hand! When I say it’s an analog piece of art, it means that I’ve created it using paper, scissors, found images and glue!

What is the different between analog originals & digital prints?

Analog originals are handmade and completely one-of-a-kind. I don’t make prints of the originals. Once it is sold, it’s gone.

The digital collage pieces are created using the computer. I find images free from copyright online, cut them out using Photoshop and piece them together. I can make 5, 10, 200 of the same print!

I love both ways of working. Each way has it’s own set of benefits. Each are touched with a bit of magic!

How much does shipping cost? Where do you ship?

I have a standard, flat rate of $4 for all orders. I ship my art to anywhere in the US as well as Canada!

How long will it take to receive?

I don’t hold much inventory at home, so it takes me two days to receive the print one you place your order. Then I add some additional goodies and ship it out to you immediately! I’ll keep you updated in the process as it will ship out to you within 5 business days. Due to the stay-at-home order affecting my shipper things have been going a bit slow and I appreciate your patience with that!

How is a digital collage made?

I create the digital collage using Adobe Photoshop. All images are digitally cut and placed. Some of the images are found in old books online that are without copyright, some are from the amazing artists online that share their images to be used and some are photos I took myself. If you have any questions about a specific piece I’m more than happy to answer them for you! Email elyjokinen@gmail.com

When did you start making collage art?

It had to have been 20 years ago that I made my first collage and to say I got into it would be an understatement. For my entire adult life I’ve had what I call a “Creative Bin” filled with paper, magazines, books, tape, pens and scissors.
I’ve collaged on paper, notebooks, planners, poster boards and card stock!

What’s your favorite TV show?

God Friended Me, New Girl, Friends, Hawaii 5-0 and Impractical Jokers. I don’t like to spend too much time in front of the boob tube though but when I do I’m watching one of those shows.

Best treat?

Justin’s PB cups and ice cream. Or Justin’s PB cups in ice cream. (Preferably dairy free!)
